DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) for IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) systems

A DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) service is a solution that allows remote access to industrial devices connected to the Internet, even when the public IP address of these devices changes frequently.

• Dynamic IP addresses: Many IIoT devices use Internet connections with dynamic IP addresses, i.e. addresses that change periodically. This makes remote access to devices difficult, as the IP address may not always be the same.
• Domain name: A DDNS service assigns a fixed domain name to the IIoT device. This domain name remains unchanged, even if the IP address of the device changes.
• Automatic Update: When the IP address of the device changes, the DDNS service automatically updates the DNS record associated with the domain name. In this way, the user can always access the device using the domain name, without having to worry about the IP address.
• IIoT applications: DDNS is particularly useful for IIoT applications such as:
  • Remote monitoring of machinery and industrial plants
  • Remote control of devices and sensors
  • Data collection and analysis from distributed IIoT devices
